WSOP continues its string of events, with the latest one to conclude being the 600 dollars Six-Max No-Limit Hold’em Championship. The event concluded with Mitchell Halverson winning 84,000 dollars and the first gold bracelet.
The Oregon-based player outperformed 783 participants to record the highest Championship winning till now. Mitchell’s previous highest winnings were 25,091 dollars in the Wynn Millions event, where the player placed 131st.
Several big names joined the tournament, but Mitchell seemed to be in amazing form. David Williams, the runner-up in the 2004 WSOP Main Event, took the 60th spot to earn 1,226 dollars. Carlos Welch, the recent bracelet winner, scored 1,649 dollars for the 44th finish. Landon Tice, MSPT Venetian winner, secured the 38th position to win 1,649 dollars. Mike Matusow, the four-time bracelet champion, placed 22nd and won 2,368 dollars.
Bryan Piccioli, the two-time bracelet champion, won 2,875 dollars for the 18th spot. Kristen Bicknell, the three-time bracelet champion, won 3,594 dollars after securing the 15th position. Jesse Sylvia, the 2012 WSOP Main Event runner-up, and World Poker Tour winner, scored 4,524 dollars for the 11th spot. The final table began after Tony Dunst and Ryan Laplante went out at 9th and 8th spot for 5,835-7,611 dollars, respectively.
Halverson was chasing Joshua Faris for the chip lead at the round’s start. Drew O’Connell was struggling and went out at the sixth spot to win 13,625 dollars. Faris eliminated Gilbert for the fifth spot and 18,604 dollars.
Nipun Java, two-time bracelet champion, lost to Halverson, securing 25,834 dollars for the fourth spot. Faris scored another elimination after beating Anthony Spinella for the third spot and 36,363 dollars.
Mitchell and Faris started with the latter owning a 3:2 chip lead. Halverson increased the chip stack to 3:1 before the final hand. The player won the hand to secure the first gold bracelet and 84,057 dollars. Faris also earned 51,965 dollars for the second spot.
