WSOP.com has collaborated with the Caesars-owned Harrah’s Philadelphia casino, as required by Pennsylvania online gambling legislation. CardsChat News reached out to WSOP representatives for more information but had not gotten a comment as of press time.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has announced the company’s expansion into Pennsylvania with a statement sent to its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, promising tournament guarantees, sign-up bonuses, and an updated and improved poker client, on Monday.

On Tuesday, the World Series of Poker announced that real-money play on WSOP.com in Pennsylvania would begin on 12th July. Players from the Keystone State, on the other hand, will be unable to play in the current WSOP Online bracelet series. Mathers verified that new WSOP.com players in Pennsylvania would be unable to participate in the WSOP Online bracelet series, which kicked up on 1st July.

Some information was released by the WSOP’s perennial (but periodic) social media spokesman, Kevin Mathers, who announced his return to the WSOP for this autumn’s live series in Las Vegas last week.

Kevmath also stated that Pennsylvania players would be able to participate in bracelet tournaments that are multi-state online at some time, albeit the precise date is uncertain. He tweeted in response to a question that he would expect before the year-end, and possibly Michigan may join in.

With a population of 12.8 million, Pennsylvania roughly doubles the number of people eligible to play legal online poker on WSOP.com. Michigan has over 10 million people, but the Caesars-owned Internet site has yet to launch. West Virginia legalized all kinds of Internet gambling, including poker, in 2018, but the state has only attracted casino and sportsbook companies with a population of 1.8 million.

New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware have a pooled liquidity agreement, allowing these states’ players to contend for digital bracelets. However, as additional states legalize online poker and rules evolve to benefit from the DOJ’s June ruling allowing for interstate online poker, pooled player pools are anticipated to grow.

With the opening of WSOP.com in Pennsylvania, players now have three regulated online poker choices, joining Partypoker US Network and PokerStars PA, which powers Borgata Poker and the BetMGM brands. With the addition of a fourth state, WSOP.com will compete with PokerStars and BetMGM/Borgata in Pennsylvania, providing players with a greater variety of poker sites to choose from.

Satellites have already started running on WSOP.com in Nevada and New Jersey for players interested in competing in the WSOP 2021. Thus they may also debut on WSOP.com PA. Weekly, $215 qualifiers have given $10,000 WSOP Main Event seats and $160 All-In Satellites with a maximum of 64 entrants, guaranteeing one Main Event spot to one player.

The statement has hinted at the new site having the best sign-up offer, the highest guarantees, and a new WSOP.com poker software. Still, no information on sign-up bonuses or deposit incentives has been revealed.

The World Series of Poker will soon disclose additional information on how to play on WSOP.com PA, with the site slated to open on 12th July. More information may be found on their official Twitter account.
